How Do I Choose the Right C-Section Delivery Service?
There are a few considerations to ensure a perfect C-section delivery experience.
- Reputation of the hospital: It is important to visit a reputed hospital like Maccure to ensure quality of service.
- Maternity facilities: The hospital you choose also needs to have the right facilities for delivery as well as postpartum care.
- Qualified professionals: The services need to be provided by qualified and experienced doctors and nurses to ensure seamless execution of the delivery.
- Empathetic consultation: Your doctor should make you feel at ease with your priorities and concerns regarding the C-section birth of your child. Your doctor should discuss clearly all the advantages and risks of the procedure.
What are the Types of C-Section Delivery?
There are 2 types of C-section delivery: Planned C-section and Emergency C-section.
- Planned C-section: These are the C-sections that are planned beforehand. This is planned in order to improve the comfort of the mother during her delivery or if it is known that there is a medical condition that may make normal delivery dangerous for the mother or the baby. This ensures safety of the baby and reduces the chances of complications occuring.
- Emergency or unplanned C-section: In this type of C-section, the decision to perform it is taken during labor or when a problem arises in labor. In these cases, C-section is determined to be the best course of action. These are done as quickly as possible so as to avoid any negative consequences to the mother or the baby.
What is the Aftercare and Postpartum Recovery after C Section Delivery?
One week after the delivery, the staples at the incision site need to be taken out. The site of incision may also feel sore for which cold compress can be applied around the region and pain medications may be prescribed by the doctor. Postpartum recovery takes about 4-6 weeks. During this period, strenuous activities and exercises need to be avoided such as stair climbing, lifting, etc. You may need help during errands like cooking and cleaning. Adequate rest and recuperation time is imperative. In case of bleeding or vaginal discharge, sanitary napkins may be used. Sex needs to be avoided until 6 weeks after the delivery.
